Jason Whitlock
Jason Whitlock’s article about Sean Taylor’s death is one of the best opinion articles I have read in a while. Insightful? Yes. True? Yes. But still not an article most of America could have written. The fact is a call that degrades and insists that a group of people do better will only have meaning if someone from that group says it.
Winds Begin To Die Down, Not Criticisms
As I watch the coverage of the California the inevitable began:
1. Global Warming: On the Senate floor, Majority Leader Harry Reid…One of the reasons we have the fires burning in California is because of Global Warming…[audio here via Townhall.com]
2. George Bush: Huffington Post wants to be sure all blame is sent to Bush with as many references to Katrina as possible.
3. Iraq War/Bush: Again, a Senator , (D) Sen-Barbara Boxer blames the Bush administration and the Iraq war. If the National Guard wasn’t stretched so thin, then there would have been twice as much equipment and personal to fight the fire.
The truth is, one of the fires was an act of…arson .
I’m sure there will be evidence that more of the 16 current fires will be linked to arson as well. The current state of things:
5 people killed, 1500 homes destroyed, 665 square miles, 1 million people forced from homes [stats from Fox News]
Prediction: Senators, House Rep’s, and The HuffPo will continue to blame the Bush administration.
This time, unlike Katrina, the competence of the Governor and local authorities is directly linked to number of lives saved.
Rush Has Last Word; Reid To Rewrite History

What happened to the Resolution to condemn Rush Limbaugh?
Today we saw a politicians ‘true colors’ as Sen. Harry Reid tried to ‘Bogart’ Rush’s patriotism. It started a couple of weeks ago with a lie generated by Media Matters. The lie was repeated by the media and left-wing bloggers. Democrat’s in the House and Senate accepted the lie and decided this would be a good way to ‘even the score’. After a week’s worth of debate, without a vote (?), they went on a long Columbus Day weekend. I am pretty sure this is when Sen. Harry Reid decided he would try to get Rush fired by writing his boss a letter.
That letter sold to Betty Casey, a noble Philanthropist, for $2,100,100.00 with the money going to the MC-LEF (Marine Corps Law Enforcement Federation). That’s not all though, Rush Limbaugh is going to MATCH the $2,100,100.00 for a total of $4,200,200.00 to MC-LEF.
Rush mentioned he offered all the Senators who signed the smear letter a chance to match the contribution too. Those with the known resources. What do you think… will there be any takers?
This probably goes without saying (watch the video)…You can see why Sen. Harry Reid wanted to appear to be on Rush’s side.
UPDATE: Rueters and NYTimes have picked up on the story. I wish the headline read $4.2 Million raised…Rush Limbaugh is a director of the MC-LEF. Another interesting point, in the NYTimes article, is the MC-LEF revenues only TOTALED $5.2 million dollars last year. Wow, Rush almost matched MC-LEF total revenue in one week. Something odd in the NYTimes article:
“…Marcus S. Owens, a lawyer who headed the Internal Revenue Service division that oversees charities and foundations, said the Casey foundation might incur taxes on its purchase because it would have difficulty demonstrating that buying the letter furthered a charitable purpose…”
wtf?
Note: The fact Rush serves as a director… example of how much he cares for the troops and law enforcement.
Little Green Footballs also noted a creative spin by the left, DailyKos: Rush Apologizes For ‘Phony Soldier’ Insult.
Still waiting for a Dem to let go of some of it’s hardly earned dough.
When Err America Trips A Republican Mugged’em
You would have to listen to Air America, or read the Daily Kos to know this was going on. I stumbled across it last night on (talented and beautiful) Michelle Malkin’s site. Basically what happened is, a radio host on Air America fell down (in the spirit of assumptions are allowed, she was drunk), knocked some teeth out, and was not able to do her job on Monday. Her guest host informed her listeners that she had been mugged. The host went as far as to blame a wingnut! Who was incited by the hate speech of (insert right leaning talk radio host here) and their objective… to shut down the opposition.
The mugging…fabricated!
The laugh out loud craziness is how the left wing bloggers (and commenter’s) rationalize their false accusations. criminal.
UPDATE: The Moderate Voice seems to be reprimanding bloggers for condemning Rhodes, and her guest host, for dubbing her ‘accident’ as a mugging by a right-wingger. Rhodes is upset because …no one had interviewed her and she herself had no proof that anyone on the right was involved or that she had indeed been mugged… The conclusion paragraph is the best because Rhodes explanation is still [paraphrase] …somehow I was bumped or push down from behind and THOUGHT she was mugged…[excerpt taken from The Moderate Voice found via memeorandum]

What Time Is The Debate On?
When is the GOP debate? I tried to watch it live on msnbc.com …sorry, the video is no long available… the response on msnbc’s video player after watching a :30 second ad spot. I admit, I was late, 3:30 p.m. cst. msnbc said it was on live at 4:00-6:00 p.m. est. So I went to the internet, blogs, etc. it made me more anxious. Some were live blogging and commenting on Thompson’s answers.
I want to see it. Now I have the TV on msnbc.
Regular programming is on, but the subject is the DEBATE! It is 4:00 p.m. cst., the debate is still going on. I have not been able to see it, but the Hardball guest host and his panel expect me to listen to their analysis of a debate that has not concluded. The host even went as far as asking the guests to comment on Fred Thompson’s answers:
…he didn’t look prepared…he was long winded…had to refer to his notes….
There was also a running joke ‘The debate is so boring….’
So know I wait…
UPDATE: I have watched the debate in full. I even went back to review parts. I have a question for you:
Who made the debate boring, the candidates or msnbc?
My trigger points:
1. Fair Tax
2. Tax Cuts
3. Border Security
I found it refreshing that everybody said the words ‘Fair Tax’. Doesn’t necessarily mean they are on the same page as I am, or Neal Bortz. Tax cuts unanimously to remain. Border Security mentioned but nothing rememberable or new to report. Again, I have to ask, ‘Was it the candidates fault or the moderators?’
Highlights:
Rudy Giuliani. Clearly the front runner.
[You won't see this exchange highlighted anywhere else] The exchange between Maria Bartiromo and Fred Thompson. Fred was clearly answering the question posed by the usually attractive Maria…Should the government step in if Chryslers auto workers walk out on Wednesday?…Fred answered with a flat no. Then[paraphrasing]…because they shouldn’t believe the government will step in (to bail them out)…Maria interrupted with a follow up question. Fred explained the same point further. Now for the juicy part. Chris Matthews begins a snide comment, joking,[paraphrasing]..You should have stopped with the first answer…that took forever… Fred’s response…Well, that’s your opinion Christopher….
For me, that exchange summed up Chris Matthews motives and what seemed to be msnbc’s. This debate has been built up as the debut to another tough contender to Hillary Clinton, Fred Thompson. I believe msnbc’s and Chris had hoped to defuse that. Starting off by showing the debate live on the internet. Where only the snide will be sure to watch. Then cloud and clog the airwaves, before the conclusion of the debate, with negative programming. Programs like Hardball and Keith Olbermann’s piece of crap. And the Democrat’s are worried about going to a Fox News sponsored debate.
[answer: msnbc]
freedom of the press or lack of skill?
Recently in northern Colorado on the campus of Colorado State University, the university newspaper’s editor-in-chief published an article and inserted an “editorial” which states, “Taser this, Fuck Bush” for which he is now before the Board facing disciplinary charges, including possible termination. The debate has now grown to the point that a local attorney who specializes in constitutional law has said he would represent the editor in a lawsuit if he is fired. I’ll skip my annoyance and disgust with this attorney who is already talking about a lawsuit before anything has been decided – nothing like sucking up for publicity in an issue you have nothing to do with. The issue does however seem to focus on this editor’s right to “freedom of the press” and the ability to make editorial comments to the public. What am I missing here? How has this become an issue of freedom of the press. Since when did the press or any other group of people obtain a free pass to be as unintelligent and vulgar as they want? We spend years telling our children that vulgarity is inappropriate in many forums and that it demonstrates a lack of ability to draft an intelligent comment. Now we are told we must accept the press’ right to be unintelligent and vulgar. Expressing one’s opinion and feelings on any subject, especially our government and leaders is clearly one of our most protected rights, but if we are granting the privilege of publishing these statements for the community to see, is there not an expectation that our journalists and editors will do so in the most intelligent way possible? The right to express an opinion does not negate one’s responsibility to do so in an appropriate manner, especially when we have given this individual the responsibility of providing a forum for news and opinions to the entire community.
Media Matters Fabricates Everyone Listens, Limbaugh
Public Service Announcement: Media Matters should not be used as a trusted news source.
I am fascinated how Media Matters can fabricate a lie and everyone listens.Taking one ounce of truth, and turning it into a lie. A lie that is recklessly repeated by the media and bloggers. With hopes of distracting us, the voters, from the key issues.
One Ounce of Truth
The ‘phony soldiers’ is referring to one soldier Jesse Macbeth.
The Lie
Limbaugh: Service members who support U.S. withdrawal are “phony soldiers”
Now the story follows a worth while narrative. Portrait Limbaugh as hating the troops, this will negate the liberal bashing of General Petraeus in the MoveOn.org Ad.
The Art of Kool-Aid
This is where it becomes frightening. How many Liberal bloggers will smell blood and do Media Matters bidding.
The Huffington Post, Crooks and Liars, The Carpetbagger Report, Talking Points Memo
Did you notice how the story has now switched to seven different soldiers. They fit into the narrative.
UPDATE: Media Matters may have succeeded, The Congress will hear a resolution condemning Rush on Monday.
Where is Al Sharpton
Public Service Announcement, Media Matters should not be used as a trusted news source.

I listen to Bill O’Reilly on a regular basis. Not daily but regularly. I didn’t listen to Bill on Friday September 21, 2007. That when Bill went on a racist tyraid, so Media Matters claims.
I heard about the story first on the Huffington Post. Then I went to the story on Media Matters. I read both in full. They were believable stories. Bill is known to touch on subjects that make most squirm.
Well no worries, Media Matters tried to create a perfect storm. News Flash- Media Matters doesn’t like Bill O’Reilly. They believed they could eliminate Bill, the same way Don Imus was.
So what did Media Matters do? They took four sentences separated by 5 minutes of cross chatter with Juan Williams to create:
“couldn’t get over the fact that there was no difference between Sylvia’s restaurant and any other restaurant in New York City.(1) I mean, it was exactly the same, even though it’s run by blacks,(2) primarily black patronship,”(3) O’Reilly added: “There wasn’t one person in Sylvia’s who was screaming, ‘M-Fer, I want more iced tea.’(4) “
Of the four sentences, I am certain two of them was messaged a little to sound like a fluid sentence. Media Matters didn’t stop there, they also offered audio that was edited (not noted as edited) to support their claims. Go to their website to listen.
Seems legit, right? It’s enough for CNN to pick-up. [snow ball effect begins] Rick Sanchez, obviously didn’t do any research. Rick’s guest obviously didn’t do any research. In return, they offer opinions and judgments about Bill O’Reilly. Who is going to hold them accountable?
[side bar: Rick Sanchez's guest doesn't give Bill a pass, because he is not black. Such is the case when discussing Jesse Jackson's remarks about Obama: "Acting Like He's White."]
Now the piling on from other uniformed show hosts, enter The View. That is when it is obvious the Left-Wing Media is drooling all over this.
Can I ask the obvious question here: Where is Al Sharpton? HE doesn’t have an opinion in all this? He was Bill’s guest. Where is the furthering of the ‘race relations’ talk that Bill and Juan began. Why hasn’t anyone picked up the ball to further their discussions? Why didn’t Whoopi or Sherri notice this and bring it up? Not enough time. Sound bite show. Where is Oprah?
Don’t make the same mistakes as these talk show hosts did. Go to Bill O’Reilly’s website and listen for yourself. Listen to the WHOLE thing. It is a big commitment….20 minutes. If you don’t, then you are like the rest….
This is what is wrong with liberals: they are quick to judge and then even quicker to condem. Without justification or merit. If you have an ‘R’ behind your name, or an opposing view point, go with the masses and try to come up with a more astonishing insult. If someone picks this up and furthers the discussion, then I will comment on that too.
