Whiskey
On the last day of school, the children brought gifts to their teacher. The florist’s son brought the teacher a bouquet of flowers. The candy store owner’s daughter gave the teacher a pretty box of candy.
Then the liquor store owner’s son brought up a big, heavy box. The teacher noticed that it was leaking a little bit. She touched a drop of liquid with her finger and tasted it.
“Is it wine?” she guessed. “No”, the boy replied. She tasted another drop and asked, “Is it champagne?” “No”, said the little boy…..”It’s a puppy.”
Ho-Hum Black Friday Top 6
I don’t know if you noticed this week, but the two earliest sales, for the biggest shopping day EVER, Black Friday were:
Both starting their sales at 4:00 AM!
I am not sure how else to express my disgust but with BOLD FACE type and ALL CAPS of the AM. To try to drive the point home that is early.
Is this a sign of desperation?
It makes me worry. I hope this prediction is wrong:
Sales are going to be lower than expected across the board, sending the stock market plummeting and the beginning fears of a recession. (You will only hear the recession word being used by Democratic Presidential hopefuls. As a way to scare you away from Republicans.)
Heres My Families Top 6 Must Haves for Christmas
- A Hamster (Not sure when we buy this one)
- Hannah Montana Tour Bus
- Hannah Montana Mix Stick
- Train Table (Thomas The Tank Engine Knock-off)
- Tonka Dump Truck (BIG enough to walk behind)
- Tonka Fire Truck
Maybe it is my kid’s ages, that we don’t have to go out in the earlier morning hours to fight a crowd over the current fad. In years past, before we had kid’s I had an idea of what products were going to be stock piled and re-sold on ebay. Take Elmo for instance. Elmo was so popular he was going for 10 times the value sold. The Tonka Dump Truck, I had to get up real early, if I was in by 11:00 am I would get it for $10. I was there by 10:30 am, and there was plenty to choose from. Whew.
So what are your must haves?

Thanks-F’ing-Black Friday-giving
We had eleven over for our Thanksgiving feast, which was prepared by my wife, at about 4:00pm. Of course, this being our first Thanksgiving as hosts, the turkey was ready an hour earlier than planned. This left my wife and her mother to scramble finishing the other two ’staple’ dishes in our families Thanksgiving.
What are your favorite Top 5 ‘Staple’ Dishes for Thanksgiving? I judge mine by which are best re-heated for lunch on Black Friday.
- Cornbread Corn Casserole
- Green Bean Casserole
- Stuffing (inside the turkey)
- Mashed Potato
- Pumpkin Pie
- (Turkey is not mentioned, because it is the obvious)
So we ate by 4:00pm, dessert by 7:00pm and asleep by 10:00pm.
Only to be awaken by half asleep children and my wife by 3:30am so we could get to Kohl’s for their ‘Early Bird Savings’.
