Today Is The Day, President Elect (Obama)

printelect-i-voted-today

So I’m standing inline, outside The Hampton Inn, my polling place. So as you can see by the title I’m calling this thing for Obama.

Am I dissapointed?

Yes. Dissapointed how poorly McCains campaign ran his election. I believe he could have changed things pointing out simple realities; raised taxes because of new spending, Democrat held Senate and House. Instead of linking him to other peoples beliefs. That tactic didnt work because it came across as petty and smear.

I do find comfort and pride that if Obama is elected, we elected our FIRST African American President!

Of course, if Obama is elected, I hope he does bring change as promised; Universal Health Care, lower taxes, Green energy, 7 million new jobs, a better economy, ANOTHER rebate. I know there is others but couldn’t recall them all.

That brings me to my final questions

Who is going to keep track of which promises Obama keeps? We all know the Republicans will but will you? The one that voted for him. Do you care if he keeps all of his promises? Some? One? None? This will actually be my motivation and goal of this blog. Hopefully we will see me eat my cynicism.

Obama doesn’t have to keep any of them and he will be touted as the best American President in history. I’m OK with that. He should be, and I get the feeling from him that he won’t settle for just being the First African American President. I believe he wants the change he’s promised. He just runs into difficulty when getting others to go along.

Nualali, you were probably more right then I… I called it because I am cynical. You called it when the writing was on the wall.

Although I knew long before today. Anyone that can draw 10’s of thousands of people to rallies across the country. That is a trend and a message that you cannot stop.
